See What I Say

If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write things worth reading or do things worth writing.

-Benjamin Franklin

The quote below made me reflect on the many nights I would go to bed “alone” and nights in past years when I had a partner. I much prefer my “alone” nights to the lonely nights when I did have a partner. Books make great lovers; always fresh, new material every time I flip the page!

Book lovers never go to bed alone.

The conceptions of my mind float down a river of rejection
Crashing upon an unforgiving shoreline without protest.
Innocent victims of unsympathetic wreckers
There they lay, burning under the stare of an arbitrary sun
Abandoned to oblivion never to breathe life again.
Where may they go to find safe haven,
To rediscover a purpose reborn at a later date.
Reincarnation may bring a thing of ugliness to its full aesthetic potential
If but given the slightest chance to remain in the nurturing womb,
It may just be worth saving.
